Tim holtz snowflakes

A wee treat (to myself .....of course) was these tim holtz snowflakes dies - same technique as in my post Dated 1st Dec 2016 - just smaller .These dies are really lovely - there are 14 of them in the set - and I made a stack of dies and got masses of cards made - happy days...................😅

male 60th

I made this card for our friend who has just turned 60 - I used a square card 15cm x15cms - I die cut a stitched square ,Then luckily managed to position the "sunburst" die centrally - and mounted it on to glitter card -The 60 was die cut from card which I had coated in tonic sparkle dust ( which I absolutely love )
I do find male cards SO difficult .........

Happy New year to you all x

thank you Card

2nd post today - I didn't want to end today (winter solstice )on a sympathy card  so this was a thank you card I made - My lovely friend treated me to afternoon tea for her birthday - yes that's right treated ME on HER birthday - now that's an amazing friend -lol
I did try to pay  but she would not allow it - I felt very honoured and I can tell you I even had a doggy bag ! I was eating cakes for days .........

Back to the card - I masked off (I love masking ) the card blended the D,inks and then stamped the butterfly in Delicata gold - the butterfly is very shimmery -the photos do not show this at all ,sadly .

I hope everyone is prepared for Christmas - Have a fab crafting day x

Sympathy

Sadly I had to make another sympathy card - so sad at this time of year
I masked off the side of my card blended some distress inks and then stamped a Tim Holtz wildflower in black ,the sentiment is a visible images stamp,

one layer card-Stencils

This is a stencil in which I used stencil brushes to lightly add the blue ink ,Once it was dry I then got a cling stamp with script writing -I didn't mount it and then stamped over the stencil .I really liked the effect -What do you think ?

I managed to make a few quite quickly, some in blue and some in brown with the script stamped with delicata gold ink - which got caught on the edge of the stencil which gave an amazing shimmer to the next few cards-sadly the photos don't show this.

Stamping bella -Muse inspiration #193

Stamping Bella
I love these crazy chicks - the stamped image was coloured with copics/promarkers and I am entering this card in the current Muse Challenge #193 and Casology-Soft

 http://musecardclub.blogspot.co.uk/2016/11/muse-challenge-193.html

I looked at the card by Jenni Murray and focussed on the cute character and the red /green colours and of course the humour of the sentiment as seen in the squashed chick - eek does that mean the chick has had too much christmas "cheer".
After I saw the title of casology I realised that I could enter this poor wee chick as the parcel had a "Soft " landing !

AND not a distress ink in sight -hehehehe

Christmas Cards - Penny Black and a border die

Penny Black/SSS
Happy Monday to you all - this was an experiment but it does take a while ! So not one I would choose for en-mass Christmas cards . I die cut the snow border then carefully stuck it on the card .I blended some distress inks ( I do own other inks - honest ! )I then stamped the branches and bird using the Misti - I used a white gel pen for snow and nuvo drops for the berries .I added some shimmer to the die cut but it doesn't show in the photo sadly .

Thank you for looking please feel free to comment x

Papertrey -Spruce and Sprigs

Spruce and Sprigs
Afternoon - I bought this set after seeing a card by "Amusing Michelle " and "mango boys and me " blogs - it was a must have purchase -oops .This is my first attempt at using them .I thought I would be super clever and die cut a mask set all ready -but didn't read the mask sheet instructions - why would you ! Ha coz I die cut them back to front so couldn't use them properly - that will definitely be a lesson learnt -lol . Any way after stamping and masking -I used Ranger glossy accents on the berries .

I then thought I would make a more modern version
spruce and sprigs
Using Delicata Gold shimmer ink .It was a lot quicker to do - but for me the jury is still out .The ink is lovely and sparkly but i had to re stamp a few times to get depth -thank goodness for my misti .Again I added glossy accents to the berries

Umm  decision time - which do I make more of ............. both me thinks

Another Avery elle bauble (circle Tag) or 3

Altenew/card-io
More of the same !-but actually  slightly different versions
With the version at the bottom - I finally managed to use a NBUS -penny Black -Santas Journey - when I bought it I had not realised how small the stamp was but it works quite well within the AE circle tag which I'm using as a bauble- so doubly delighted.

thank you for looking

Christmas cards season -and MISTI

Sorry I haven't posted for a while - been busy but doing what I have no idea ! I have finally started to make the Christmas cards - yippee - Been the usual hit and miss collection - but I have to say THANK GOD FOR MISTI - doesn't it make life SOOOOO much easier when doing multiple cards and/or colouring stamps and re stamping, If you don't have one  ask Santa  - its a must have thing.......
Anyway back to the plot - Christmas cards I will try and post a couple over the next few days - here's the first - please comment good or bad - I read them all and more importantly I love advice-What do you think ?
Christmas Bauble
I die cut the tag - then marked off and stamped the homestead - using the mask (post it note ripped ) i made a snow bank /horizon-then using a dried out baby wipe - blended the sinking sun ,then stamped the trees - I used some watered down DI to make some shadows .Then on the base card I stamped the branch in DI then coloured the cones on the stamp with a couple of distress markers - It didnt seem to "pop"  so I then stamped again with versamark and clear embossed .All this branch stamping was done using the amazing misti - yip yip yip

I have finally leant how to post a photo on Splitcoaststampers - and my first card on there was the HouseMouse Christmas baubles - and I made it on to Fav Cards on the week - feeling so chuffed !

Is this Cheating !

We are heading north tomorrow up the east coast of Scotland for a Baby naming ceremony. We will be meeting up with some old friends and can't wait - but I had a dilemma - how do you make a "baby naming card " I had a search around the local card shops for ideas and none were forthcoming ! I checked Pinterest and again not a great deal to be inspired by - christenings yes but not "baby naming " so I searched my stock of stuff that has not been used for years - and found all this stuff - stickers basically - So question - is it cheating to use them ?
this is the card I made - what do you think ?- cheating - yes slightly - oh well ........

Sympathy

It is with more sadness that I have had to make yet another Sympathy card - this time for a friend whose husband unexpectedly died-he  was well respected in our wee community - He had a heart attack and has left a great loss for his wife and 2 sons .They had been planning a move to Spain and had almost sold their home - Not sure what the wife will do now ....... You never know what is around the corner so make the most of each day and every opportunity
I made the background a while ago and sadly cannot remember whether this was distress inks ,Brushos or water coloured paint ! The stamp is a Paperartsy - which I used water coloured paints and washed it to the edges to emphasis the flower centre- a few drops of Tonic drops  and the words are visble images. Judging by the photos it looks like I needed to stick the panel better :(

Have a nice weekend .

More Goodies

More lovely goodies from SimonSaysStamp - 2 dies 2 stencils (both Tim Holtz) and Avery Elle storage pockets - all still NANBUSS (newly acquired never been used stamp stuff ). Hopefully i will get a chance to play this weekend - I am way way behind in making Christmas Cards - I can feel panic starting up ! How are you all getting on ? Do you make a few for family and friends or go into factory style production ? Would like your thoughts on this ?
Thank you reading my blog x

21st Birthday Card - Balloons /Stencil

This card was made using my new Balloon Stencil by  MFT .I had great fun -stencilling is very therapeutic but then I am a big kid -I used distress inks and added a bit more colour in some areas to give some depth ,I used a gel pen to give the light highlights - The 21 was a mama elephant stamp which I coloured with a clear embossing pen ( which I have had for about 14 years and not used for at least 12 !!! so was totally impressed it was still working !) I then used Wow embossing powder - the glo in the dark one .I had to later add the belated ( hang my head in shame - the card was made in plenty of time but never posted till yesterday -Amy I apologize :(  )
Then I added some sequins and Tonic Nuvo Crystal drops to bling it up - everyone needs bling in their lives -dont they ?

Thank you for reading - feel free to comment good or bad x

hi there blogland ,
its been ages since my last post -sorry about that but too much STILL going on with the kitchen BUT there is light at the end of the tunnel ! I am now in the process of putting the house back together and trying to eradicate the dust . But I have managed to make a few cards and buy more stuff !!!! As one does !

This card was a result of playing with some of my newly acquired craft stuff. This card was for a young lady who is about to start the next stage of life and find a job after uni !
The card below, was again playing with the Visable Image Stamps - I wasn't too sure about it at the time but left it till the next morning to decide what to do and decided that when I went to re look at it that actually it was better than I first thought .Again this was a birthday card. I will try and post some more tomorrow - if the dust doesn't get me first !Thank you looking and commenting........ good or bad !

NANBUSS-newly arrived never been used stamps/stencils

Ok blogland -here we go I am about to show you  a shocking amount of new stamps and stencils - It is without a doubt the fault of pinterest and the new kitchen .Why - because I cannot craft with the house in such a state and so I spend time on the internet reading emails and notifications from pinterest - while dealing with the lovely workman who have making our new kitchen (We have been so lucky with them all - they have been amazing and such lovely men ) I feel like this is a confession -but even I was shocked at how much I have managed to acquire but in my defence this has been over 10 weeks or more - I think that makes me a stamp/stencil addict ! Helllllllllppppppppppp !

Hi ,sorry its been a such a long time since I posted on my blog ,I blame the on going saga of the new kitchen .Well we are on week 10 now and the end is in sight - yippppeee. As it stands at the moment we still have no working oven ,grill, microwave or fridge - whats a few appliances amongest friends .............BUT that could all end tomorrow ....I'll keep you posted on that ! Please keep everything crossed .
BUT I  have managed to spend a small fortune on craft stuff >I get bored I go on pinterest ,add more beautiful cards to my boards (well it is sort of crafting isn't it !) and then investigate the details of some stunning cards and go shopping ! Then panic in case my hubbie see's all the packages arrive .I now have so much NANBUS ( newly acquired never been used stamps -sorry extended your fab NBUS phrase Darnell  :(   ) ..that I need to spend months in my chaotic craft tip - oops room .
I will try and photo the new goodies - and hopefully a few cards over the coming week .

Lochnagar Mountain in the distance covered by the waterfall of clouds
this is Glen of Muick
My hubbie took me away this past weekend -to Ballater ,Aberdeenshire .Such a beautiful area of Scotland - the area is part of the Cairngorms - which is protected now .We took some photos of the scenery -which was stunning ,saw 3 red squirrels  which was amazing and lucky .... Visited a distillery and had a tour and a sampling of Lochnagar Whisky which was very nice ( I normally don't like whisky ! )This distillery is near Balmoral ( country home of the Queen -who was in residence )

Congratulations Card

Our really good friends daughter and my hubbies Goddaughter has just heard that she has got into Edinburgh University after doing wonderfully in her A levels ,
Congratulations
Again I did the stencilling first with distress inks - Dried marigold ,Wild honey and shabby shutters ,Again I used the SU kinda eclectic set and stamped with the Abandoned Coral / shabby Shutters distress Ink.I then blended colours on a waste piece of card and die cut congratulations .This die is quite fine so I stuck the card -prior to die cutting - on stick it paper .That worked really well - must remember to use it more often on fine dies .

Birthday card-wine humour

Wine Card
it was a friend birthday the other day - so as I had fun with the 25th wedding anniversary card I thought i'd try another of that "random" style, after all you can't really make a mistake ......can you ?
I did all the stencilling first ,then stamped on top , Finally I stamped the greeting from HoneyDo and heat embossed it with WOW glo-in -the-dark powder ( which really works )-I then decided to mat it onto Kraft card stock -voila

baby girl card -shades of pink

Baby card-shades of pink
Some friends have just had their first baby - I cant wait to meet her. So I made a baby card which I find quite difficult to get right , I stamped the bear and embossed it then masked it ,then stamped over it with the favourite things background from Elyzbells ,and the balloon was stamped with Hero Arts pink ombre ink.I lightly coloured the bear with a watercolour wash pink distress ink -spun sugar- and then re masked the bear and blended some more ink around the bear ,hopefully they will like the card .

GroundHog Kitchen day

this is a wee update - still no kitchen - well yes its almost all in but we cant use it ! But today was not a great day for Stuart our wonderful fitter - the cupboard that was put in  was the wrong one ,the cooker hood that he fitted turned out to be damaged when the wrapping was taken off , and the dishwasher door was damaged - so all the work today was wasted !so we have to repeat it all - seriously groundhog day ! It is starting to look amazing though and will be worth the wait - I Hope LOL
We are actually a lot further on than this photo now - this was taken last week ..............

Brushos and flowers

OLS-Art (Jackson Pollock -ish )
I love Brushos - no 2 cards are ever the same -I sprinkled brusho powders and then dropped water on to the card .Once the card was dry I stamped this Penny Black flowers - I then used some brushos to paint the inside of the flowers .I am thinking of entering the One -Layer-Simplicity challenge - where the theme is art - So is this art - I am working on the theory that this is a wee bit (Paul)Jackson Pollock-ish (abstract expressionist artist) and I went with the colour and watercolour theme of Susan Raihala (Design team) example card
http://onelayersimplicitychallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2016/08/ols30-august-art.html
I won this badge for the above card so excited and shocked -Its the little things that keep you going .Thank you so much OLS challenge

Silver Wedding Card (but not very silver)

silver anniversary-not !
I randomly took some stencils and some distress inks (Wild Honey,Dried Marigold,)  and was pleased with the appearance of depth ,Next I stamped some of the images from the SU kinda eclectic stamp set ( Shabby Shutters, Abandoned Coral ) I die cut 25 several times and layered them up -I coloured the top numbers and added some a Perfect Pearls, I then die cut a Congratulations ( sorry I cannot remember the brand ) - also blended with distress inks ( it doesn't seem to show up on the photo )

Thistles

I had to make a load of thank you cards for our youngest son ,who had been hitchhiking and couch surfing in Netherlands and Belgium sooooo I thought they ought to have a Scottish theme (not that we are Scottish but we do live on the east coast of Scotland and very beautiful it is too )
I bought this stamp soooo long ago but could never get it to look right - if you know what I mean. But with all the new techniques around - I had a light bulb moment - I inked it up with distress Inks and then lightly sprayed it with water and was delighted with the look .I then matted the thistle -very simple and very easy to repeat - I used wilted violet and shabby shutters DI
